I love your story above and can only tell you (from one who lost the 12-year-old love of my life labrador a year ago...and then sent my one and only daughter off to college in August) that I don't know how I got through it all. Thank goodness for brilliant writers like you and Monica who communicate it all so well...and laughter heals everything. I hope your one and only is doing well in his freshman year.
